About
I am Stéphanie Heckman, a creative professional with an academic background in liberal arts psychology, anthropology, sociology, and an MSc degree in strategic leadership for sustainable development.
I work internationally as an independent graphic recorder, visual facilitator and illustrator. Originally from the Dutch dune coast, I am currently based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
I derive my drive from the tectonic social shifts taking place in our ecological awareness, workplace mindsets and civic engagement; and all the work being done to mount a collective response to environmental degradation, detrimental organisational cultures and political polarisation.
In support of these movements, I help people make sense of, remember and share the outcomes of their collective conversations - at conferences, trainings or in the workplace - by translating them in into visual summaries that distil the essence of both content and undercurrent.
I work with a wide range of sectors, topics and organisations, but will prioritise supporting organisations working to address the climate crisis – on local, regional and international level (e.g. climate science, politics & policy; environmental NGOs; climate justice initiatives), as well as peace and reconciliation initiatives in our increasingly conflicted world.
In addition, on this website you will also find links to my music, independently released under artists name Soma Saloli, events I have co-organised over the years, and a collection of my travel essays.
